Sep 29: Free Museum & National Park Admission

New Girl in the Air recently posted about the free museum admission offered September 29 at venues across the country by the Smithsonian. You do need to register in advance, indicating which location you plan to visit, and they’ll email you a ticket good for two people. It doesn’t say if quantities are limited per location or if you have to stick with the museum you’ve chosen, but my guess is not.

She also reminded me of the Bank of America’s Museums on Us program that I haven’t taken advantage of in a couple of years. Show your Bank of America debit or credit card on the participating weekend each month and you get free admission to as many participating places as you can cram in.

The one I love most is the Free Entrance Days offered by the National Park Service. It happens 5 times a year, the next two happening September 29 which is National Public Lands Day (sounds like a Hallmark-made holiday to me!)  and November 10-12. No card or registration is needed, just show up at the national park of your choice.
