Free Bacon Cookbook on Amazon.com

Okay, okay… this is a little bit of a stretch for a travel blog.  But I know a lot of people share my love for bacon.  And I’d definitely travel for good bacon.  (And Keri traveled for Praline Bacon!  And Vegas is the place to go to for bacon.)

Today, Amazon has a free bacon cookbook for Kindle.  If you don’t own a kindle, you can deliver it to a Kindle app on an iPad or any other device.

Bacon

The book includes bacon cocktails, and you can’t lose with a free book!

Disclaimer:  I receive a small percentage of purchases made through my Amazon links.  A small percentage of free is, well, nothing, but I appreciate you reading this post and this far in this pointless disclaimer!

  1. Wow you guys must be really desperate for material 😉

In all seriousness, the bacon trend might be one of the most overplayed food trends ever. Bacon does taste good, but just sticking bacon in a recipe does not automatically make the food taste better. Anyone who calls themselves a foodie and then raves about how bacon should be added to everything clearly knows nothing about food. 99% of the time the bacon flavor in a dish completely overwhelms every other flavor.

I see it more of a guilty pleasure item than a foodie item, but I have to confess–I love bacon chocolate chip cookies, bacon waffles, maple bacon ice cream, bacon martinis…. yes please! (And I’ll take that over the trendy cupcake any day!)

      • I agree 100% with you on cupcakes. Everytime I pass by Georgetown Cupcake with the throngs of mindless tourists waiting in line outside my brain just explodes. Baking is an art, making cupcakes is a hobby. The fact that untrained bakers are raking in the dough (get it?!?!) making mediocre versions of an easy to make product just bothers me.

  2. Geez Seth…having a bad day? Go eat some bacon!

  3. Actually now that the ban on electronics during take off and landing has been lifted, it’s semi-relevant. Reading bacon recipes is a good way to kill time in-flight 🙂
