Beauty Help for the Holidays: December’s Sample Society

a box with small bottles of cosmetics

This box arrived only shortly after my December Birchbox shipment, but with the craziness of the holidays, I’ve only now had a chance to review it. Which is surprising because it was a really great box!

The theme, predictably enough was tied to prepping for holiday parties. A decent travel size can of Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Mousse, and more exciting a small tube of Alterna Caviar Dry Shampoo. I’ve been in the market for a good dry shampoo for overnight flights ever since my disastrous experience with Lulu Organics® Lavender + Clary Sage Hair Powder I received in a Birchbox. Very much looking forward to trying it — my trip to Ireland in a few weeks is the perfect opportunity.

I was even more excited by the tube of Philosophy’s Hope in a Jar Night Intensive Retexturizing Moisturizer. I’d heard good things but never wanted to splurge since I always forget to apply cream at night. And I was pleased by the generous bottle of Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant even though I’d pretty committed to the Suki exfoliate cleanser I’d received in earlier boxes.

And of course there was the obligatory fragrance — this time Aromachology Fresh Eau de Parfum. I wish I wore fragrance, because this would be an amazing way to try out all the latest and greatest. But sadly I don’t. Perhaps I’ll do a HeelsFirst giveaway of 20 travel size fragrances sometime soon…
