US Airways and American Airlines post-merger loyalty points, elite status, and alliance.US Airways has another sale through May 25, 2014 where you can get or give up to a 100% bonus on miles.

I’ve purchased miles for trips before, but only in specific situations?

How do you know when it is worth it to buy miles?

We have a guide here.  The alliance is different, but the math is the same.

Miles are also worth it if you would like to stop somewhere on your way to your final destination.
