Reader Sam C shared some articles that show I’m not alone when it comes to crying while watching inflight movies! And there might even be a semi-scientific reason for my tears!

And I found a recent Atlantic Monthly article that explores research and reasons for the trends first identified in a 2011 survey done by Virgin Atlantic.  I’m not sure I can blame all my waterworks on not having enough time for reflection and decompression, but it sounds plausible.

If you share my inflight emotional tendencies, you’ll probably get a kick out of this insightful and hilarious 2011 piece from American Life.

Are you more or less likely to cry on planes?
