First Hyatt All-Inclusive Badly Damaged by Hurricane

The first Hyatt All-Inclusive, the Ziva in Los Cabos was badly damaged by Hurricane Odile, a category 3.

I got an ad on twitter for the Hyatt Ziva brand, hit the hashtag for it, and was shocked to see the extent of damage and the number of people desperately trying to reach guests there.

The guests were apparently evacuated to a shelter:

Many hotels were badly damaged, and the area itself is in bad shape.

There’s some images in this YouTube clip of the damage to the Ziva, which is heartbreaking to see.

The airport was damaged as well.  Airlines are changing flights into October, but if you have travel planned here, try reaching out to your airline and hotel brands on twitter to see where things stand right now.

Hyatt Ziva will be closed through October.

The Red Cross has been providing support to the badly damaged area.  If you would like to donate to them, you can do so here.
