Saveur Magazine just released their 2014 Best Airline Lounge rankings based on “a panel of expert travelers” and readers and here is how the airport lounges stacked up.

Experts’ Choice: Singapore Airlines’ SilverKris Lounge, Singapore Changi Airport

Satay to order in The Private Room Lounge, Changi Airport

I’ve only seen the Silver Kris lounge briefly, having been quickly walked through on my way to The Private Room for Singapore Airlines First Class. It looked nice, and I certainly enjoyed sipping Grande Dame and ordering off dim sum and satay off The Private Room menu!

Readers’ Choice: Qatar Airways, London Heathrow Airport

Outstanding

Emirates’ First Class Lounge (Dubai)

Etihad’s Diamond First Class Lounge (Abu Dhabi)

Thai Airways’ First Class Lounge (Bangkok)

As everyone probably knows, the Thai Airlines First Class Lounge in Bangkok is one my favorite lounges of all times, but that has more to do with the service and the free spa treatments then it does the food, which is good but not amazing. Despite the fact it has it’s own food room where you point to order and then a fresh preparation is brought to you.

Notable

Qantas First Lounge, Sydney Airport (SYD)
Cathay Pacific: The Wing, Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)
Finnair Lounge, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL)
Lufthansa First Class, Frankfurt Airport (FRA)
Qatar Airways Premium Terminal, Doha International Airport (DOH)
Lounge Istanbul, Turkish Airlines, Istanbul Atatürk Airport (IST)
British Airways Concorde Room, London Heathrow Airport (LHR)
Cathay Pacific: The Pier, Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)
Air New Zealand, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Air France La Première, Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)

two glasses of wine on a table
Buffet dessert and Veuve Cliquot rose at the Cathay Pacific The Wing Lounge
a sandwich on a paper wrapper next to a glass of champagne
Grab & go sandwich at the Cathay Pacific The Pier HKG

Thoughts? What do you think was missing and what should have been left off the list?
