Boo Worthy: October PopSugar Must Have Box
One day I will learn to follow my own advice. After the success of September’s PopSugar Must Have Box which featured a $125 scarf + 4 other great items for only $39.99 I decided to keep my subscription for another month. Even though I know that subscription boxes are best when co-branded with another company — with more brand reputation on the line, the selections are usually better.
But I went for it, and as I should have expected, I was disappointed by the October PopSugar Must Have Box.
There was Halloween/Fall themed items — nail art exclusive to PopSugar by Nailed Kit ($8) and yummy looking Dean & DeLuca Pumpkin Spice Malt Balls ($5.75) which were less exciting when I realized each giant whopper sized treat was 40 calories.
I did like the simple Isaac Jacobs Acrylic Frame ($36) and the Chalkboard Candle by Mine Design ($24) which was not only clever, but the soy candle had a great scent.
And I’m always up to try new eye pencils, plus I love Butter London, so the Earl Gray Wink Eye Pencil ($18) was probably a highlight. The giant bar of K. Hall Designs Triple Milled Shoreline Shea Butter/Olive Oil Soap ($10) not as much. Even stranger that it was sponsored by Progresso Soup…
And socks are always good, though I would have liked the Happy Socks ($12) selection more if it had been more autumnal themed.
Overall I did not feel like it was worth the $39.99 pricetag for the box. Yes, things technically were valued for more than that, but there was enough I was indifferent to to feel like I wasted my money. Even the included coupons didn’t really help — 15% off Dean & DeLuca through Nov 2, $40 off Blue Jean Bar Express, 25% off Marchesa Accessories, and a random Progresso promo.
I will definitely be waiting for the next partnership before ordering PopSugar Must Have again. That or another fun spoiler 🙂 If you can’t resist though, you can get $10 off November’s box when you sign up by Nov 7 and use code SPOOKY.
