Southwest Flight Diverted as Passenger Gives Birth

Takeoff sometimes makes people nauseous.  Or dizzy.  Or in my case, I always fall asleep.

A passenger on a Southwest flight found that takeoff caused her to immediately go into labor.

According to KTLA:

The woman gave birth “slightly†after takeoff while the plane was in the air, Southwest Airlines spokeswoman Emily Samuels said.

A nurse and doctor were coincidentally on the flight and assisted in the delivery and care of the mother and baby until flight crews landed the plane and paramedics could take over, Samuels said.

The flight was only going from SFO to PHX, so that’s a really quick labor!

Part of me wonders if the woman had signs of labor before getting on the plane, but wanted to be home for it.  It just seems so quick to me.

Thoughts?
