Frequent Fliers and Cabin Crews at Risk from Toxic Fumes?

A coroner in Dorset, England has filed a report with British Airways and the Civil Aviation Authority claiming “ people regularly exposed to fumes circulating in planes faced ‘consequential damage to their health.” according to a recent article in The Telegraph.

The article goes on to mention multiple British Airways crew members who have died or suffered ill health attributed to flying. I found this bit particularly interesting:

Most passengers who fly only occasionally will not be affected by the problem, but some frequent travellers who are genetically susceptible to the toxins could fall ill, with around 10 per cent of the population affected.

Apparently radiation isn’t the only thing we have to worry about in-flight, but for me the joy of travel still outweighs the risk. Would concerns about toxic fumes impact your travel habits?
