Rumor: Silvercar Opening a DC Location

By  |

Heard from a friend of a friend in the know, Silvercar (my favorite rental car company) is opening a location at Dulles Airport. Apparently they’ve been advertising for Concierge/Service Specialists in the DC area. The listings have since been pulled down, cached listings show up on a Google search but don’t exist on Indeed.com.

So no idea if this is true, but sounds promising. IAD is a little far for a local rental, but for out of town visitors this will be a major improvement on current options. Fingers crossed!

Surprised they would utilize IAD. 1) It has officially become the smallest in passenger traffic of the 3 airports serving DC. 2) They would not get the casual urban car renter as you would at DCA, though Zipcar does offer Audi/BMW rentals around town. Only thing I would understand from a business model is that costs there would be way lower than DCA, but I bet you BWI costs would have been even lower.
