Update on Atlantic City

Last year I gave Atlantic City tourist attractions another try, and got to meet an amazing man, Charlie Birnbaum. Only to learn that an Atlantic City agency whose goal was to increase tourism was trying to take his house through eminent domain. Despite the fact it was surrounded by empty lots that were all for sale.

And now I have an update on how that all turned out. Since I visited, the Revel casino, for which his land might be needed, closed permanently. That didn’t stop the CRDA from still wanting his modest plot for other undefined uses, but fortunately the judge finally ruled in Charlie’s favor and he gets to keep his home.

Somtimes there are happy endings! 🙂 (I still won’t be going back to Atlantic City though)
