How to Take Advantage of Low Price Guarantees With Minimum Effort

a woman with her arms up in the air

I was introduced to this cool new tool by the Girl and the Globe last month. Paribus tracks your online purchases and contacts retailers on your behalf whenever you qualify for a low price guarantee or a price match, and initiates refunds without you having to do a thing. You just sign up, link your email account so they can pull your receipts automatically, and if/when the item becomes cheaper they handle the rest.

They make their money by taking 25% of your refund, but since it’s money I wouldn’t have had anyway, it’s totally worth it. Plus, if you sign up with my link, it dorps to 20%.

So far, none of my purchases have qualified, but with holiday shopping only days away, I have a feeling this is going to come in handy.

Right now they’re working with:

  • Amazon
  • Bloomingdales
  • Macys
  • Best Buy
  • Sephora
  • Newegg
  • Staples
  • Target
  • Bonobos
  • J.Crew
  • Zappos
  • Nordstrom
  • Banana Republic
  • Gap
  • Old Navy
  • Athleta
  • Piperlime
  • Walmart

  1. This sounds like a huge security risk, as you must provide them with access to your email account. This gives them access to your entire email box. If they are ever hacked, who knows what could happen to the information they collected about you. Additionally, if other websites can send password reset emails to the email account that you are linking, that is an ever bigger security risk.
