Airline Travel Waivers Announced for Northeast Flights

If you’re traveling through the Northeast this weekend, now is the time to change your plans! All the major US airlines have announced fee-free changes for flights through airports likely to be impacted by the snow storm. For most, they’ll also waive any fare difference if you reschedule for travel no later than January 27.

American Airlines Travel Waiver for flights scheduled Jan 21-24
Delta Travel Waiver for flights scheduled Jan 22-24
United Travel Waiver for flights scheduled Jan 22-24

Make the changes now! You’ll want to jump on this quickly to get the best possible flight options before flights fill up.

Try online first. American let me choose my new flights online, saving a 15-20 minute wait on the telephone. Not sure if Delta and United are the same, but it’s worth trying. Just log into your reservation and see what your options are when you select “Change Reservation.”

  1. I just changed a Delta ticket. I actually called and even the agent I talked to had a hard time making the change. They waive the change fee but now the new flight has to be in the same fare class. And if you bought a discount ticket you probably aren’t going to find those except on flights nobody wants. This is one time I was glad to have status. Not sure how she did it but she got me a seat on a flight with a decent time!
