Mendoza Trip Report Teaser: Stray Dogs in Santiago

a group of dogs crossing a street

I’m still working on my trip reports on my Mendoza/Santiago trip, but have to share a crazy thing I witnessed today in the historic section of Santiago, Chile.

Walking down Bandera Street towards Plaza de Armas I was struck by the number of stray dogs on the streets. All trotting around purposefully and even waiting to cross streets until the lights changed.
Invalid request error occurred.

And then a few blocks down I was suddenly watching a pack of 6-8 stray dogs attack a small truck over the course of a block, finally resulting in a flat tire. It was like being on the African Savannah and watching a water buffalo go down…

Invalid request error occurred.
