Keri’s Holiday Gift Guide for Travelers

Here are a few suggestions for gifts the casual (and more than casual) travelers in your life might enjoy:

1. Tom Bihn Absolute Shoulder Strap — you don’t even need the perfect laptop case if you just have the perfect strap. This does away with the days of heavy bags cutting into your shoulder and even puts a spring in your strap, if not your step. Works on almost any laptop case or bag!

2. VMV Hypoallergenics Re-Everything Eye Serum— great for both men and women, this serum tightens bags, lessens dark circles under the eye, and generally takes away evidence of overly-long flights or late nights.

3. Tumi Quintessential Tote or Lo & Sons O.G or Cambridge overnight bag. The Tumi bag is my go-to bag for overnights, yoga class, or when I’m not having to haul a laptop with me.

I personally have not tried an Lo & Sons bag yet, but saw several at the recent MegaDo and fell in love. The O.G. bag for women is quite large, but looks like a stylish, Longchamp-esque, hand bag. The Cambridge is a nice extension on a laptop bag, and the squishy exterior on both makes it easy to shove in overheads or under seats.

4. Birchbox for Men or Women — a fun treat that arrives monthly packed with travel size samples of personal care, food, and in the case of men, fun electronic gadgets. Gift subscriptions are available for 3, 6, and 12 months periods, starting at $30 for women and $60 for men. Read about what arrived in a recent Birchbox shipment.

5. External Batter Charger — make it easier to stay in touch across the miles with a portable power source for dying phones and electronics. Jeanne favors the Anker® SlimTalk 3200mAh Backup External Battery Pack Charger, but your recipients needs may vary.

6. Travel Wallet — I can’t say enough good things about my travel wallet. It’s great, particularly for international or extended trips, because the pockets and compartments give you easy immediate access to a myriad of loyalty cards, tickets, baggage reciepts, foreign currency, and most importantly, your passport. I prefer the zippered kind to keep everything secure. Best of all, prices for good ones start around $20!
