Amazon Adds Great New Feature for International Travel

a train and car with text

Just got an email from Amazon Prime that they’ve added the ability to watch Amazon Prime Movies & Videos offline. This is fantastic news for my international trips where Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and all the rest won’t stream due to copyright agreements. Unless you set up a US based VPN, or outright buy the content. Neither of which I wanted to deal with.

No idea yet how long you can access your downloaded content, but leaving for a trip today so will be testing it out. Note it only works through the Amazon App and you’ll probably need to update to the latest version to see the download feature.

  1. I’m getting ready to go on a very extended trip outside the US and this should be a great new feature. I did find out that you can only download a maximum of 25 videos at a time, and each episode of a TV show counts as one of those 25. You won’t be able to get any more downloads until you delete something. Still, this will be fantastic for catching up on my viewing.
