Why Is Bacon Wonky In Other Countries

If you’re traveled internationally you might have noticed that the bacon is often not what you get at home? And for bacon enthusiasts that can be quite disappointing if you like it crispy, or thick, or thin. So do other countries just not know how to cook it?

Turns out they’re probably using a different part of the pig. Fox News did a fun little article on where bacon is sourced around the world. And since many countries don’t smoke or cure their “bacon” the taste as well as the texture is going to be different.

  2. My point was more along the lines of whatever country you’re from, bacon in other countries won’t be what you’re used to. 🙂
