Get Free Travel Items at the Airport Through Project Fi
I was flying out of San Jose for my Labor Day trip to Alaska and saw an interesting kiosk. It wasn’t Benefit cosmetics or Best Buy electronics, it was a Google Project Fi vending machine filled with face masks, power cords, socks, and other travel amenities.
It turns out this cool trolley has been around for awhile and Project Fi customers can get one free item every week via a QR code on their phone.
Those of us who haven’t opted into the cheap international data plan can still take a shot at getting a free item if you successfully answer all the travel trivia questions. They don’t make it easy though, you get two tries at a perfect score and I’m embarrassed to say I missed a question each time.
And they do limit you to only twice in a certain time frame, enforced by the kiosk camera. So if you go with a friend, make sure you stand back during their turn or risk losing one of yours.
San Jose Airport isn’t the only location, you can score freebies at 9 airports:
- BUR -Â Terminal A, Gate A3
- MDW -Â Terminal 1, between Gate A5 & A3
- MSP -Â Terminal 1, Concourse G
- ORD – Terminal 3, between Concourse K and H
- PHL – Terminal F, right before the first gate
- SEA – Concourse D, next to Gate D1
- SJC – Â Terminal B, across from Gate 25
- SMFÂ -Â Terminal B, across from Gate 12
- STL – Terminal 2
Have you scored some free travel items from the trolley?
It took me forever to answer all the questions correctly and when I finally did, the prize door that opened was empty….boo
