Free Tastings at Over 500 Wineries When You Fly Alaska Airlines
Alaska Airlines’ Wine Flies Free program is even more exciting than I first thought! It isn’t just about getting your first case of checked wine free regardless of status. You can also get free wine tastings at over 300 wineries in Oregon and 200 wineries in Washington.
With tasting fees usually $10 and up, this is a big savings!
Alaska Airlines Wine Flies Free Destinations
The Wine Flies Free Program extends across much of the Northwest, the key is flying in or out of eligible airports and holding on to your incoming boarding pass as proof!
Santa Rosa/Sonoma County Airport, California
No free wine tastings, but the Sonoma Wine Flies Free program gets a free checked case on any Alaska, Delta, or American flights as long as you have your Alaska Mileage Plan number on your reservation.
Wine Tasting in Washington
Eligible Airports: Yakima, Tri-Cities/Pasco, Walla Walla, Spokane
Taste and Tote not only gets you a free checked case of wine and various rental car discounts, it also gets you free wine tastings at over 200 Washington wineries in Yakima, Tri-Cities, and Walla Walla Valley. Just make sure you bring an in-bound boarding pass from any of the three regions above to taste for free at places like Charles Smith Winery and Hogue Winery.
If you’ll be visiting Spokane, stop by any winery in Spokane’s Cork District within 48 hours of landing and your tasting fee is waived!
Wine Tasting in Oregon
Eligible Airports: Portland, Eugene, Medford, Redmond/Bend, Walla Walla
Oregon Wine Flies Free gets your first checked case of wine free and waived tasting fees at more than 300 wineries around the state, including some on my list of recommended Willamette and Portland Urban Wineries.
Check out the full list of participating Oregon wineries and don’t miss Ayres Vineyard! Tasting fees in Willamette often run $20-$40, so if you’re planning a long stay in Willamette, you might save more than the cost your Alaska flight!
