My Airline Amenity Kit Made Me Miss Out
…or how I gave up an amazing Glossybox.

A few years ago I had the opportunity to fly SWISS in First Class, which also gave me the chance to try a few La Prairie products for the first  in my amenity kit. They were nice, but I was underwhelmed, particularly for the retail price.
So when Glossybox offered me the chance to spend $40 on a special edition La Prairie box, I decided to pass. It did contain two newly released products, but based on my impressions of the hand cream and lip balm, it wasn’t for me. It was definitely of interest to my friend at First Impressions, so I let her use my option.
I was both glad and sad she did, because once it came I had major box envy. And I couldn’t really feel bad because I’d had first chance to get it!
Both the foam cleanser and bottle of cellular refining toner were far larger than I had thought they’d be. I was picturing little .5ml samples.
So was the Essence of Skin Caviar Eye Complex!
But the real value came with the two brand new items: Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Dry Oil and Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Cream.
They were much longer than I would expect for a “sample†and came in really pretty packaging. The dry oil even has it’s own dropper to more effectively apply the liquid.. My friend had already tried them, mixing the dry oil in with the cream and felt a big difference, even in just one day. The real killer? Those last two items retailed for $300 each for a full size!
We decided to blame my airline amenity kit for my poor decision not to get the box before it sold out, but I can’t in good conscience do that either since I discovered my favorite facial cream through my Singapore Airlines amenity kit. Next time I get the option to buy a special release box, I’m jumping on it!

Wow…just wow. This posting is ridiculous. I’m sure the rant made you feel better, but perhaps you should sit down and reevaluate your life. Is anything that was in that box really worth getting upset about? Its overpriced garbage for people who need to buy things to make themselves feel better. If those items are so important to you, go out and buy them. If you can’t afford them and you aspire to be someone who needs to purchase expensive items to make your life better, well then I pity you.
I’m sure your rant made you feel better. But maybe it’s time to reevaluate your life if ranting about someone else’s blog post is how you derive meaning in your life. If making snide comments is what you do to make your life better, well then I pity you.
But seriously, all she’s talking about is how she is bummed that she missed out on a great deal. Some of these high-end products are amazing but us mere mortals can’t drop $300 for moisturizer so it’s nice when we can try a product for less and see if it’s really worth the hype (and the money).
Looks like someone needs to get laid.
^ Jared, lighten up dude. There was no rant. It was an anecdotal story to remind people a single exposure to a product is not enough info on which to base a long term opinion. You may pity the author, but consider that others pity you for your judgmental nature. Perhaps you should put aside some reevaluation time as well.
