Plane Makes 8 Hour Flight With Hole in the Nose After Being Struck by Lightning
Reader Amanda just sent this Daily Mail article to me. Earlier this week an Icelandic Air flight from Reykjavik to Denver was struck by lightning which left a big gaping hole in the nose. The pilots were apparently unaware and continued on the 8 hour flight arriving safely at Denver.

This is kind of scary… And it’s a bit puzzling that the pilots were unaware of something like that! You would think that the fuel consumption would be altered when you have a whole on the nose like that, or that you would hear unusual noises…!
