Now Here’s A Bad Idea
Gare du Nord and Lille train stations in France were evacuated on Monday when British passengers tried to take home war memorabilia in their luggage. According to the Daily Mail:
…a Eurostar passenger sparked a security alert at Gare du Nord on Monday when staff caught him trying to take a disarmed artillery shell onto the train, as his bags passed through the X-ray machine.
The Gare du Nord station serves over half a million passengers a day, so this was quite the disruption. According to the article this is not an unusual event and the passengers are usually British.
The caution posters for the WW1 centenary last top even the TSA  warnings. 🙂
