When Should You Book Thanksgiving Flights?

Trying to decide the when the best time to find Thanksgiving flight deals? You might start now! In 2015, September was projected to be the best time to time to find cheap Thanksgiving flights.
For 2016, Skyscanner projects you’ll be able to book the cheapest flights for Thanksgiving the weeks of October 31, October 17, and September 12.
Of course actual savings varies based on your destination. So it’s always a good idea to track your desired dates and flights if you’re not finding decent prices.
- The Hopper app will notify you when prices drop
- Google Flights will send you email updates on airfare prices for your desired dates
To get even cheaper fares, be flexible. Coming back on the Monday or Tuesday after Thanksgiving will typically save money. Also be willing to fly less popular times like early morning or late at night.
