Amazing Sign Up Bonus On the Credit Card I Use the Most
Just emailed this offer to a couple of friends. Through April 5, there’s a 35,000 point sign up bonus on the American Express SPG Personal and Business credit cards. 35K points is the biggest bonus I’ve seen, and I think I’ve only seen it offered one or two other times in the decade I’ve had the card.

Why do I love the Starwood Preferred Guest AMEXÂ so much?
Easy Redemptions that Offer Great Value! Starwood has no blackout dates and great availability for award nights. And with redemptions at Category 1 hotels starting at only 2,000 points it’s not uncommon to get a 5+ cents per point value. This summer I redeemed a mere 3,000 points for a $284 room at the Four Points Niagara Falls, making my points worth about 9 cents each.
Starwood points can be used for free nights at their 11 brands: St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, W Hotels, Le Méridien, Westin, Sheraton, Aloft, Element Hotels, Four Points by Sheraton, Tribute Portfolio and Design Hotels. They also have a wide range of airline partners you can transfer to.
Another big benefit for me is the nights towards elite status — 2 stays/5 nights.
In the last two years the annual fee has increased to $95, but they’ve added other benefits as well including:
- No foreign transaction fees
- Premium internet access at SPG hotels. Â Now that basic internet is free, getting premium access is a must.
- Boingo hotspots internet access. Great for the few airports that don’t offer free wifi.
35K Sign Up Bonus Requirements
The spend requirements are actually quite reasonable as far as these bonuses go.
- Earn 25,000 bonus points after you make $3,000 in purchases on the card within the first 3 months.
- Earn an extra 10,000 bonus points when you spend an additional $2,000 on the card within the first 6 months.
