United Breaks Guitars, Alitalia Destroys $200K Violas, NY Met Increases Admission Fees & More
Highlights and headlines from around the web:
- United is legendary for breaking guitars, but Alitalia just destroyed at 17th Century viola worth $200,000. The owner tried to buy a seat for the instrument, but the plane was full and she was assured it would be hand carried to and from the plane. Yikes!
- JFK Airport just can’t catch a break. Friday night passengers were calling 911 after waiting hours on the tarmac for a gate. Over the weekend some people were waiting 13 hours for their luggage. And on Sunday, that luggage was flooded and part of Terminal 4 evacuated when a water main broke.
- Mastercard World Elite Cardmembers can get free President’s Circle Status.
- Is Mongolia soon to be the next hot spot for opera? If you’re familiar with throat singing it will come as no surprise that the country has gone wild for opera, nor that their singers are winning international awards. Perfect excuse for a trip! 🙂
- On March 1 the New York Metropolitan Museum will begin charging a $25 admission fee to all non-New York residents. Previously they had a pay-as-you-wish policy.
