The Most Romantic Hotel in the US is in…Ohio?
Fun travels, ill health, and my day job caused an unintentional pause in writing, but hoping to catch up on my more interesting trip reports soon! In the meantime, here are the interesting, funny and random headlines from around the web that caught my attention today:
- TripAdvisor just released their 16th annual Traveler’s Choice Awards and Belamere Suites in Perrysburg, Ohio was rated as users’ favorite romantic hotel in the US. Admittedly I thought this might highlight some of the problems with TripAdvisor rankings, but the hotel does appear to be pretty swank with a two story suite complete with private heated swimming pool. Bali was ranked the number one destination in the world with London, Paris, Rome and New York also in the top 5.
- Were you able to get in on the $340 tickets from the US to New Zealand that popped up for an hour or two this afternoon? If you have no idea what I’m talking about but wish you did, consider following these websites for crazy good airfare deals. 🙂
- Scott’s Cheap Flights Premium just emailed about flights to Hawaii from the West Coast (including Anchorage and Canada) in the $300s-$500s. Not crazy good deal, but good if you wanted to travel February-May to Kona, Honolulu, Kauai, or Kahului . Check Google Flights for dates and prices from west coast airports + denver or austin.
- Scott’s Cheap Flights also has a giveaway for a trip to Jordan for two. You can’t win if you don’t enter!
- Not fake news: Camel beauty pageant kicks out 12 Animals for having botox.
- I read a lot about lost luggage but rarely hear good news. After 5 weeks this guy got his missing luggage back, with the contents intact! Looking forward to hearing how the reimbursement claims are handled.
- The homeless population at Atlanta Airport has significantly increased and is causing problems, but what is the right solution?
