Being Drunk On a Plane Could Cost More Than Your Drinks…
According to The Independent, the drunk passenger who caused a Virgin Australia plane to return to Perth was fined £26,000. (h/t: uggboy on Milepoint) The 23 year old man, who was apparently drunk before boarding, is required to pay the cost of refueling the plane and putting the other 80 passengers up in a hotel for the night.
I was rather hoping he was being ordered to compensate the other passengers for their wasted time.
