Packing for 7 Hours in Pensacola
If packing for a long weekend is tougher than for a week, packing for a mileage run that includes a day at the beach is the hardest. Unless you’re planning on bringing back rum cream, it’s not worth bringing a suitcase along, so what are the essentials that will get you through the day and fit into a decent sized satchel?
Here’s what Jeanne & I packed for a day that involved the beach (sans the changing rooms we had in Jamaica) and eating at a regular restaurant.
Keri
Wearing: sundress with wedge heels
Toting: Tumi Satchel + med size purse containing
- Bathing suit
- Beach coverup
- Sweater for plane
- Reef leather flip flops
- Camera
- Book
- iPad
- Travel wallet
- Oversize Clownfish Beach Towel
- Cosmetic bag with travel size deodorant, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara (for post beach dining)
- Hair brush
- 30 SPF chapstick
- Toiletry bag with instant hand sanitizer (for feet post opt-out), refreshing wipes, eye drops (to counteract salt water), 3 oz SPF 55 sunblock for face & body
- Snacks: Apple, carrots, peanut butter crackers (for spite)
What I also wish I had brought:
- Flipflops that could get wet
- Plastic bag for wet swimsuit
- Plastic bag for wet towel
Note: Had I not been traveling with Jeanne, I would have also packed chargers for my iPad and phone.
