Study Finds Women Wearing Heels More Attractive Than Those In Flats
Several friends sent me this article in the Daily Mail about a recent study from the University of Portsmouth. Researchers found both men and women perceived women as more attractive when they wore heels and that they also looked more feminine because the heels made them take shorter steps and swing their hips more. Although if you ever see me and Jeanne running through an airport, you’d be hard pressed to say those were shorter steps…

“In a second experiment, the viewing group were asked to judge whether the video showed a man or a woman walking towards them. When the women wore flat shoes they were nearly twice as likely to be viewed as a man.”
Another friend also sent me this article on the negative long term effects of wearing high heels. The smushed toes and shortened muscles are a real concern (I’m not really worried about the increase in sprains, etc) which is why I do pay attention to stretching and exercise and minimizing the impact that poorly fitting heels can have.
