What’s in September’s Birchbox
My September Birchbox just arrived, a few days later than usual. Some things I’m thrilled with, others I’m not sure, but overall I feel like I got my money’s worth!
I’ll start with my favorites.
I only recently discovered the “Say Yes To” lines, because of Birchbox actually — an earlier box came with the Say Yes to Cucumbers travel facial towelettes (which were helpful on my last mileage run to Alaska when the upgrade on the return didn’t clear) and the Say Yes to Grapefruit Facial Scrub (also good). So I was thrilled to see the Yes to Blueberries facial towelettes (just in time for my mileage run with Jeanne this weekend) and the Yes to Grapefruit CC cream, which has 18SPF, useful if the sun ever comes out on our trip.
Next up was the Racinne Ultimate Youth Power Eye Serum.
Because traveling almost every weekend, more often on redeyes than I’d like (which is never), and having a rewarding, but stressful full time job leaves me with not enough sleep, I’m very interested in any products that can help reduce dark circles. So this will also be fun to try out on our mileage run this weekend.
Not quite as exciting:
I received the amika Blow Up Spray that supposedly “adds life and major shine for the perfect blowout.” I’ll give it a try, but I’m not really a blowout kind of girl. Also included was the RUFFIAN Fox Hunt nail lacquer in a “vibrant orange.” I’m surprisingly conservative with my nail polish shades going with more traditional red, pink, or french. But its not completely obnoxious, unlike other colors I’ve received, so perhaps I’ll slap some on when I get a free minute.
All in all, not bad for $10, the eye cream, facial towelettes, and cc cream were worth it. Plus I”ll fill out surveys and get 50 Birchbox points (~$5 in store credit). If you’re interested in trying out Birchbox, I would love it if you sign up using my referral link.
And if you sign up by September 14, you’ll also get 50 Birchbox points to start!
Disclaimer: As stated above, if you sign up using my referral link by Sep 14, we’ll both get 50 Birchbox points. YAY! I think at the least you’ll have fun getting monthly surprises, but don’t blame me when the little cardboard boxes start stacking up or when everything in your house becomes organized by what will fit in them. If you do buy the Yes To products I linked to above on Amazon, Jeanne & I will also get referral credit. Double YAY! So as long as you’re buying what you want, everybody wins.

Just wanted to say that I am really enjoying your blog. I love the variety of content you present – travel deals, trip reports, travel accessories, beauty products, wine! You two pump out so many interesting posts! Have you noticed that a few other Boarding Area bloggers have stepped up the frequency of their blogs? Trying to keep up with you two!! Thanks for keeping it fresh.
I’m soooooo tempted to try out Birchbox, but now’s not a good time. Maybe around Christmas or my birthday I’ll ask for a subscription for the year. 😉
