January’s Intriguing Birchbox
My Birchbox arrived a little late this month, but it was worth the wait. The diversity of products and brands (although sometimes it’s hard to keep them straight) made the box feel more interesting than usual.
(And a reminder if you’re already a subscriber to visit www.Birchbox.com/sundays every week for chances to win a shopping spree or extra products.)
First up was a box, almost Tiffany blue in color, containing a travel size bottle of Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser exclusive to Birchbox. You massage the cleanser into your skin and then soak the included cloth in hot water to wipe it off.
Next was a cheap looking palette of nude and metallic eye shadows, which belied its quality. Not sure if I can pull off the colors though. Also a mini container of Camille Beckman Body Butter in Monarch Scent. I love little pots of this size which are perfect for travel and tucking into purses.
I’m pretty happy with my current shampoo and conditioner, but I’m interested in the Duosity Hair Treatment designed to “restore hair health and prevent damageâ€. The idea of mixing the packettes into foam also sounds kind of fun. 🙂
The Birchbox extra was an Under Armour braided headband. I’m usually not a fan of these mini workout headbands – I usually get a headache and still get sweat in my eyes, but the three bands might actually address that latter problem.
And of course, a little postcard pep talk to help me get my year off to the right start was included as well.
If you’re interested in joining the Birchbox fun, please feel free to sign up using my link (I’ll get 50 Birchbox points). And if you’re already a subscriber, I’d love to hear what different products you received!

My box was exactly the same. I’m packing the body butter for a trip I have this week.
I also got the headband (in a very bright orange!) and the Monarch Body Butter. I also got a Klorane aerosol dry shampoo (yeah!), a weird matchbook of lipstick samples, and BHA 9 – a 9% salicylic acid blemish spot corrector which I’m really excited to try.
