Missing Avios Miles Is Not a Glitch

But don’t panic! If you followed the instructions to reset the password on your compromised British Airways Executive Club Account and saw a 0 balance, you might have felt inclined to worry.

Reader Phillip R just let me know that British Airways updated their FAQ’s this morning to explain the missing miles. (highlighting mine)

They have zeroed out the accounts to limit fraud until they can fix the issue. You probably could have guessed it was the case, but now at least it’s “official.” Whew.

  1. I don’t think we know the real facts yet. I believe the language in the FAQ is carefully scripted (dare I say – by solicitors…?). Having said that, I believe that our Avios are safe. At least I hope that to be the case.

  2. Been trying days to access my account. Finally called, waiting forever to get a person, then after they verified via lots of security questions they reset my password and told me that my Avios points will be restored but that it might take 7 days.
