Etihad Launches Elites-Only Twitter Account
Just saw this via Heather Poole’s twitter feed — Skift.com has an article on Etihad’s latest premium offering. A Twitter feed accessible only to Gold and Platinum elites.
The new @EtihadPremium Twitter feed is only available to Etihad’s Gold and Platinum frequent flyers.
Interested parties must apply and be vetted by the airline, submitting a copy of their Etihad Guest Card, date of birth, postal code and their Twitter user name to socialmedia@etihad.ae.
Twitter has evolved into a great way for some companies to offer superior, quick customer service, so this makes sense to me. However, looking at the list of features which includes alot of special content, I think the only real value is the 5 minute response time.
Fortunately for those of us who fly American Airlines, they have some of the best Twitter service and they’re open to everyone.
