My April Box Was Rifled, March Was Luxe

My April Birchbox has arrived, and unlike last month I’m on the ball and ready to review. They partnered with Rifle Paper this month and though some of the sample choices appealed, I played it safe and went with the Effortlessly Elegant featured box. So here I am ready to review, though there weren’t any surprises, just a really good line up.

Still, it was a good box so I’m ready to enthuse afresh.

I rarely wear foundation, but still excited to try the Marcelle 3-in-1 Micellar Solution ($21) which “removes makeup, cleanses skin, and soothes irritation with natural ingredients.”

Then the item I was most excited about — the PARLOR by Jeff Chastain Volumizing Lifting Spray ($24) that I love so much that I actually spent $24 on a hair spray. It smooths and yet fluffs my thin wavy locks. And I’m not a big blush person, but the Laura Gellar New York Baked Blush-n-Brighten ($28) is such a luscious, somewhat realistic rosy color that it’s worth trying.

Tocca Crema da Mano ($20) is something I’ve received before and liked a lot. The Giuletta scent of green apple and pink tulip isn’t as crisp as I had hoped, but still good. Note that the tube is sealed so you’ll need to peel off the seal before attempting to squeeze it with all your might…

Also a little tube of Dr. Jart+ Liftra Contour Cream ($60) that “firms, lifts, and plumps skin.” I cannot wait to try it on my next mileage run.

So super happy with this box for $10. And because I completely forgot what I chose back in March, my pre-determined selections still came as  a nice surprise.

And my March Birchbox was a surprise and a pretty awesome one. I just never got around to doing an individual review, so here’s a quick summary. AWESOME. VALUE. EEEEEEEE.

It was very luxe and even though I don’t like fragrance, I’ll admit I rather liked the Cartier item. 🙂

Birchbox is one of the better beauty boxes around offering quality products you can’t get in drugstores and the chance to earn $5 in store credit for reviewing each box. If you’re interested in signing up, please use my link so I’ll get store credit to support my habit. 🙂

  1. You got some great items! I have the full size of that Laura Geller blush and it is amazing. I would have loved a small one for travel. I have been hearing lots of things about Miceller waters and did some research. I don’t think I would use it as a first step in cleansing but I could totally see using this after a long haul flight and didn’t have access to suitable facilities to wash my face. I am also jealous as that Smashbox eye trio as it is the perfect neutral eye colors to throw in a travel bag.
