$200 off Airfare on Travelocity
30 minutes just saved me $200 on my next trip to visit my parents!
I woke up to a great deal on View from the Wing, $200 off at Travelocity for Air+Hotel for 3 night stays. The beauty of it is that you can still save money even if you don’t need a hotel.
When searching your flight + air package, choose the the destination and dates you want for flights, then check the box “I prefer to stay in a city other than my destination airport.” Choose a region with cheap hotels. I had success with La Ben Resort in Goa, India for my dates, others are having great success with Bangkok.
At $10 a night, the La Ben Resort comes in at only $30, so I’m saving about $170 off my airfare! Also, when booking, don’t forget to search evreward.com for the best cashback options just in case it works even with the coupon. I went with Mr. Rebates for 4% off ($7.50 sign up bonus if you’re not a member yet).
When checking out, use code NFB2012. The deal expires Aug 4, or after it’s been used 3500 times. Based on the growing buzz, it probably will expire tonight…
Notes: Your stay (flights and hotels) must be 3 nights or more. There also doesn’t appear to be an option to search for different arrival/departure airports. So unless you live in an area where there’s an airport code to search multiple airports, like WAS for Washington, DC, you must fly in and out of the same airport.
Just Another Points Traveler has a great post with step by step screenshots on how to book.
Update from a reader via View from the Wing: A bit more Googling and it appears that this discount is being promoted by Travelocity to members of the National Federation of the Blind. I leave it to you to determine whether or not that influences your willingness to use the discount.
It looks like the deal has been around for at least a month, so I’m feeling a little less bad about myself, but still…

Seconding what Keri said about flying in and out of airports. I am a huge fan of flying in and out of HPN and LGA when flying to and from New York (and usually will fly into one and out of another). I could only do HPN with HPN, but using NYC, I could do EWR/JFK/LGA mixed routes.

Update 2: A bit more Googling and it appears that this discount is being promoted by Travelocity to members of the National Federation of the Blind. I leave it to you to determine whether or not that influences your willingness to use the discount.
Thanks for letting us know! I was glad to see in the comments that this deal was around for a month before the FF community got wind of it. So I’m hoping those who wanted to use it were able to before the deal gets killed. :-\
