Turkish Airlines Serves Celebration Cakes In-Flight

a man holding a chocolate cake

Just received an email from Miles & Smiles. If you or someone you know is traveling within 3 days of your birthday or wedding anniversary you can call at least 24 hours in advance and have a free cake served onboard.

Invalid request error occurred.

I love this idea! But I’m not sure I’d actually want to be a recipient if the cake is as large as the one in the picture. What do you do with it if you don’t eat it all in one sitting? No matter how carefully they wrap it, I can just picture fumbling trying to carry that and my purse/laptop bag and rolling carry-on bag. And what if I was flying internationally? Would the food sniffing beagle in customs get me? 🙂

What are your thoughts? And has anyone actually had a celebration cake served in flight?

  1. It’s easy enough to finish a cake of that size in one sitting: share it with the people around you and spread the joy!
