Per the Toronto Sun, a WestJet passenger left a note on his seat yesterday expressing disapproval of his female pilot (and female pilots in general).

  1. I have so many things to say to this guy, and none of them I can say publicly because of the raging douche bag that he is.

  2. I get that it’s very difficult to root out sexism in all the knooks and crannies of prejudice and stereotype, but this kind of overt misogyny really pisses me off.

    I work in tech and I’m a guy, and there aren’t nearly enough women in my industry without anybody saying that women don’t belong there. The problem is even worse in aviation, and this likely won’t help.

    I wish there were more female pilots, if for no other reason than increasing the chance that this guy would get one on his future flights! (There are lots of other reasons, btw.)
