Keri’s Favorite Virginia Winery Teaming Up with Jeanne’s Favorite DC Restaurant

I’m super excited about an opportunity coming up in Washington, DC July 8! Jeanne’s favorite restaurant in DC (now Dino’s Grotto in Shaw) is hosting a wine dinner with my favorite winery in Virginia.

I first visited Dino’s in their new location a few weeks ago during a frequent traveler meetup with Jeanne. I was thrilled to see that Glen Manor Vineyards was among the many good wine by the glass options they offered.

This started a twitter conversation among the four of us, the outcome being a wine pairing dinner on July 8.

If you love really good Italian food made with locally-sourced ingredients and really good Bordeaux style wine, as well as extremely friendly owners and other foodies, you should definitely purchase tickets! I was even more thrilled to see that it’s limited to 5 seatings of 12 people, so you’ll have many opportunities to talk to both the winemaker and owner of Dino’s.

Jeanne is in love with their duck fat potatoes (I am too for that matter), although I was recently captivated by their summer offering of crispy pork belly with strawberries. Yum!

Perhaps I will see you there!

  1. I loved Dino when it was up in my neck of the woods! Sounds like I’ll have to make a trip over to shaw and also check out Glen Manor next time I’m in Virginia. Have you ever been to Chateau O’brien winery in markham Virginia? They make some amazing reds.

  2. Hmm, sounds like you need to travel a little further south in Virginia. Veritas Vineyards, exit 107 on I-64 is wonderful. Great food, wonderful views and in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains close to the Parkway.

Also, try Blenheim Vineyards in Charlottesville. This vineyard is owned by Dave Matthews and you never know when he is going to pop in.
