World Cup Plane Struck By Lightning & Other News
A few random items of interest this morning:
- The plane carrying the Spanish team home from the World Cup was struck by lightning as it landed. No one was injured. (h/t:Â uggboy on Milepoint)
- Stephanie Slade at US News & World Report reminds us that the government voted against cheap fares to Europe. (h/t: Dan)
- Incidentally, the Time article on 10 ways to get more bang for your travel buck that prompted the piece above is actually rather interesting. I had no idea that DC and Chicago have the best flight departure options in the country, but it doesn’t surprise me.
- Black’s BBQ just emailed to say they will be open on the 4th of July 10AM-8PM. I rather wish I had plans to be in Austin over the holiday now…
