Passenger Plane Joins Search Efforts

not sure how I missed this –just saw this on the “Things I Learned” Reddit! In 2012 an Air Canada Flight flying to Sydney, Australia from Vancouver was asked to help search for a missing boater shortly before they landed. The plane descended from 37,000 feet to a mere 4,000 feet while passengers scanned outside their windows for the stranded craft. 25 minutes after activating his SOS beacon, the man was spotted by the plane. 🙂
