United Card Holders: Get 500 Bonus Miles for Using Visa Checkout
Logged into my United account for the first time in months and was greeted by this offer:
United Mileage Plus Visa credit card holders can get 500 bonus miles when they enroll their card in Visa Checkout and make a purchase of at least $5 within 15 days. Offer is valid through 09/30/2016 for new Visa Checkout accounts, only one offer per cardmember. You can go directly to the offer via this link.
Once you enter your Mileage Plus number you’ll be prompted to enroll in Visa Checkout. Turns out I already had an account — guess that day I spent 2 hours trying to register for their Game Day deals and failed actually worked — but that I could still subscribe using a different email and my United Explorer Card.  I shared it with several friends who reported issue with reCAPTCHA blocking them. My suggestion is to keep trying later or switch browsers, Visa Checkout’s sign up process has some issues.
Its an interesting, though not extensive list of merchants participating in Visa Checkout, but since you can use Visa Checkout to pay for Starbucks when you order ahead, shouldn’t be too difficult for me to qualify within the two weeks.
