HOT Airfare Deal: $171 from DC to Santiago, Chile
Via Point Me to the Plane, Loyalty Traveler, and The Flight Deal, Copa has ridiculously cheap flights to Santiago, Chile from Washington, DC for travel January through June 2017. There are very limited dates at that price, but I zeroed in on dates in May and June (keep in mind it will be winter there). These fares won’t last long, so book fast if you’re interested!
While you might not see everything, Santiago is a city that can easily be done in a weekend. I was there for just a day and still felt like I got a taste for the city. Including watching a pack of wild dogs disable a small truck downtown…
Mendoza is also a cheap flight across the Andes, so if you’re booking a longer trip, it might be worth taking a day or two to pop over for some amazing wine tastings!
And since the flight routing is IAD-PTY-SCL, you might get lucky with an overnight in Panama City on the way down with enough time to check out the Panama Canal.
