How You Can Help California Fire Relief Efforts

a close up of a fire

Northern California wine country is one of my favorite places to visit, and I have so many happy memories there with friends and family. The devastation the wildfires are causing is heartbreaking.

And it’s hitting even closer to home since I was just there, barely a week before. The house we rented was only two blocks from the Santa Rosa evacuation area, many of the wineries and buildings we admired and photographed driving through the countryside are now nothing but ashes.

If like me, you would like to do something to help, NBC Bay Area has a list of options for volunteering or donating, including long distance donation options:

There’s also a certified California Fire Relief Fund on Fundly that will support firefighters and victims of the fires (all of California).

The Community Foundation Sonoma County has set up a Sonoma County Resilience Fund that will go to the nonprofits that need it most. Williams Selym will match donations up to $10,000 made through their link.

If you know of other reputable donation options, please feel free to leave a comment and I’ll update this post.

  1. Keri, So sad. We were in Napa just last week. Enjoyed time in Calistoga, a special little town. Today it was evacuated.
The suggestions you gave me prior to the trip were much appreciated.
