Alcohol Could Help You Learn a Second Language & Other News
Highlights and headlines from around the web:
- This was an eye-catching headline — Study: Alcohol could help you learn a second language. Well, speak a foreign language is more accurate. A recent study found that participants who had a low dose of alcohol had better foreign language skills. The study also points out only a low dose of alcohol was ingested, higher levels may not work as well.
- Speaking of alcohol, Amazon has The Beer Bible Kindle edition for only $.99!!
- British website Which? surveyed 4,000 members to determine the best, and worst, hotel chains in Britain. The worst of large hotel chains for 5 years running was Britannia which only had 2* and a customer score of 33%. Premier Inn and Ibis Budget topped the list.
- Imagine winning a marathon because other runners got lost!
- It looks like the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort is expanding! I loved my stay at the Swan several years back — good use of points and Epcot early access privileges. 🙂
- I was sorry that the Club Sandwich Index by Hotels.com hasn’t been continued. It was an insightful (and relatable) measurement of hotel dining costs across the world. The 15 most expensive cities for Gin & Tonic just doesn’t have the same ring.
- If you’ll be in Chicago the Friday before Thanksgiving, check out how you can get a free FTU Expo pass.
- This was so senselessly tragic. 5 teens in Michigan were throwing large rocks off an overpass at cars and killed a young father when it came through the windshield.
