TSA Saves Cat Crammed Into Checked Luggage, Game of Thrones Hotel & More
Highlights and headlines from around the web:
- I usually highlight all the silly and ineffective things the TSA does, but in this case they potentially saved a life! The Erie TSA discovered a 6 month old cat crammed into a checked bag without water, food, or access to to fresh air. The owners were flying from Erie back to their home in Florida. Unbelievable.
- Amazon is offering print subscriptions to Conde Nast Traveler for only $5 a year. The best part? Print subscriptions also come with digital access which means you can read it on your Kindle as well.
- Found this interesting — the earth’s shifting magnetic field will cost the Wichita Airport hundreds of thousands of dollars. The compass headings of the airport’s three runways have shifted 6 degrees since they were named in 1954, which means they need to be renumbered and the new signage won’t be cheap.
- There are some days where I could really use a glass of wine, but never this badly. A man stole a tank, rammed it into a supermarket, and stole a bottle of red wine.
- The Atlanta TSA is continuing to test scanning IDs without requiring a boarding pass. Here’s hoping!
- Game of Thrones fans can get their fill these year at this themed ice hotel in Finland. You can actually sleep on a bed of ice (in a fleece sleeping bag of course) or if you prefer just to sitesee rather than experience, they have plenty of log cabins with their own saunas.
