VIDEO: What Happens to Half Used Hotel Soap and Shampoo
Awhile back I looked into what happens to the soap and shampoo left behind by hotel guests and discovered Clean the World. This nonprofit collects the used toiletries left by guests and sterilizes and reforms them to be sent to third world countries. Apparently the AP did a video on this in April, so now you can see the process of recycling hotel soap.
Clean the World is also sending hygiene kits to the affected areas of Nepal.
And what to do with those unused hotel soaps and shampoos sitting in your closet? If you have an overabundance of travel size toiletries collected on your trips, consider donating them to a local shelter!
