Spoilers: The $5 Summer Walmart Beauty Box

a group of products on a table

My summer Walmart Beauty Box just arrived and it’s an exciting bunch of travel size samples for just $5!  Earlier reviews I’d read were critical of the sample sizes — mostly single serve, foils — but they’ve either fixed the problem now or I’m having a good streak.

The first thing I saw when unboxing was the Coconut nail art ($4.97). I’m a big fan of using nail wraps when traveling because they’re less likely to chip and typically don’t require nail polish remover to remove. These nail wraps do require nail polish remover, so not quite as low maintance, but excited to try in case there are other perks.

Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Diamond Color & Radiance shampoo and conditioner for colored hair (full size $6.96 each)

a couple of white containers with black text

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Leg Makeup ($11.58 full size). I like Jergen’s BB Body Cream as a self-tanner and always excited to try new products that won’t streak or turn orange, unfortunately the color they sent me is medium which is likely too dark for my pale skin.

Hand and body cream never goes amiss, this time Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair which purports to heal dry skin in 5 days.

One of the big prizes of this box is the Burt’s Bees Lipstick in Blush Basin which sells for $8+. I was happy it was a demure color and it might break me out of my lip gloss rut.

The only foil sample was the Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion, which isn’t convenient but at least it’s a decent serving size.

For $5 a quarter, right now I think the Walmart Beauty Box is one of the best deals around. Nothing too fancy but solid products in convenient travel sizes you can’t always get in-store.
