April’s Sample Society Has Arrived!
And unfortunately there wasn’t much inspiration for my travel amenity kit. Months like this make me consistently waffle on whether to stay with Sample Society, but then I get a really good box like February and March and I stay hooked.
The giant square wound up being Tatcha’s Original Aburatorigami face blotters. All natural oil absorbing papers that won’t disturb your make up. Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, I tend not to worry about shininess so this is wasted on me. The packaging was rather impressive though…
Anything by Butter London is usually good, so when I saw the eye pencil (one of my make up must haves), I was excited. Imagine my disappointment then when I took it out of the box and saw it was pink. PINK!
I’ve never seen anyone who wasn’t on a fashion runway pull off pink eye liner and I know I never could. Boo.
The Jane Iredale Lash Conditioner was a little more appealing. Anything that can help me look less sleepy in pictures!
The last two were probably my favorites. Though why I need a travel size Illume candle is beyond me, even if it does smell pleasantly like a freshly showered man. Not really one of those things I won’t leave for the airport without (man or candle).
The H2O Plus Aquafirm Micro-Collagen Moisturizer was definitely a plus though. I’m always looking for good skin care products that can help offset the toll of long flights and little sleep. And at $50 for 1.7 oz, my generously sized sample is a good value.
If you enjoy high risk high reward monthly subscriptions, Sample Society might be for you! It’s $15 a month and comes with a $15 off $50 purchase of any of the items in the box.
