Free Starbucks Tonight Thanks to Technology Glitch
My twitter and Facebook feed (h/t: everyone!) is blowing up with reports of free Starbucks across the country. CNBC.com reports that the point of sale systems at many locations went down during a daily update this evening and rather than turn customers away, many locations were just giving out drinks for free.
Based on twitter it looks like some locations did close temporarily, while others shifted to cash only. Kudos to them for turning a major inconvenience into great publicity 🙂
Did anyone score a free Starbucks this evening?
Update: Per @TheMrPickles, sounds like some locations are giving away food items too (or hiding them?).

I didnt..she just turned me away and said they were only taking cash only transactions…….I think ill use the power of social media to score me a free star or two!
